After graduating from the University of Colorado, I spent 3 1/2 years in Peace Corps (two plus in Africa and one plus in Nicaragua).

Returned to school and got a Masters at MU after conducting research in Honduras.

Returned to Central America to implement a project I wrote for USAID and then, again to do volunteer work after Hurricane Mitch.

I have been living in Albuquerque, NM since 2000 doing diverse but interesting jobs, mostly working with the Native American communities in various capacities.

After almost two years of convalescence from severe injuries sustained in an auto accident, I'm finally gainfully employed at an Ecological Restoration & Environmetal Planning Co. I love my new job although I don't like the commute to Santa Fe. Hopefully, Bill Richardson's (NM governor & former presidential candidate) pet project (a commuter train due to be completed and running at the end of this year) will alleviate my dilemma of being an environmentalist while commuting (burning fossil fuels) 100+ miles everyday.

School Story:

I have many fond memories of high school; too many involving a great deal of drinking.

Influential teachers that come to mind are Mr. Henke, Ms. Rae, Jean, Jean the Grammar Machine and, uniquely, Mr. Shelby (what would I have done without Latin?). They all gave me good advise for the future or, at least, kept me entertained during class.

I disagree with those who were/are still enamored with coach Armstrong as I thought the temporary swim coach & chemistry student teacher, Pete Klein, was much more attractive and closer to our age. He was DREAMY!
